The Panthers are currently tied in points with the Washington Capitals with 55, however due to actual records, the Caps find themselves in the third spot in the Eastern Conference, while the Panthers are seventh. Gone is the cushy lead that Florida had during the month of November that carried through part of December. The Panthers will play Washington four more times this season, with three games coming during the month of February. The Panthers will play the Winnipeg Jets three times over the remainder of the season, once a month. It is plainly obvious that these games and the points on the line (14) could make or break the playoff positioning of the Panthers. Oddly enough there is only one more game against state rival Tampa.

Sullivan, 27, has played in 32 games with the Worcester Sharks (AHL) this season scoring five goals with 19 assists. The Boston, MA, native has appeared in 183 games with San Antonio (2006-07 & 2007-10) registering 89 points (21-68-89) and 69 PIM.
The 6-foot, 190-pound defenseman posted career highs in goals (12), assists (37) and points (49) while playing for San Antonio during the 2009-10 campaign. He was drafted by the Phoenix Coyotes in the ninth round (272nd overall) in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.

The San Jose Sharks have acquired forward Tim Kennedy from the Florida Panthers in exchange for defenseman Sean Sullivan.
Kennedy had 1 goal and 2 points in 27 games for the Panthers this season. The 25-year-old has 11 goals and 29 points in 112 career games for the Sabres and Panthers.
Sullivan, 27, was playing at Worcester in the AHL this season, where he had 5 goals and 24 points in 32 games. He finished with 12 goals in each of his last two minor-league seasons, for Worcester and San Antonio.

Clemmensen deserves a steak dinner from everyone in the Panther dressing room after this one. He was the MVP tonight and made an average effort by the team in front of him enough to earn them two points. Can't say enough about how well he played.
